First meet at Falmouth, Sep 23rd

Congratulations, runners, on your first meet of the season!  It was great to see everyone trying their best. Running a race isn't always easy, but here's a great quote to keep in mind:
In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that.

P.s. Let's plan on a 2009 photo at our Fort Williams meet next week. Come early!

Welcome to our new blog

Thanks for joining the cross country team!

If you're new to running, you might like this quote from Olympic gold medalist, Joan Benoit Samuelson of Cape Elizabeth:
When I first started running, I was so embarrassed I'd walk when cars passed me. I'd pretend I was looking at the flowers.

So, even if you don't think you're a runner, give it a try and who knows - there might be a statue of you in front of the library someday!
